Cooled "Mule" Turbine Design
A robust "mule" drive turbine was the answer to our customer’s need to test full-scale compressor rigs on a seemingly impossible schedule. The Agilis team designed, analyzed and procured a cooled, two-stage High Pressure Turbine (HPT) in 7 months.
Starting with preliminary airfoil designs, our engineers finalized airfoil cooling designs, performed secondary flow analyses, and performed the complete design and analysis of all rotating and static hardware. Taking advantage of our vast network of suppliers we delivered the hardware on time. The turbine successfully completed the core test with no performance or durability problems, allowing the completion of all test objectives.
